Apple Crisp

Hey guys! Hows it going? The recipe I am posting today is very delicious dessert recipe. Made with apple and Oats I personally love to eat it with peanut butter and vanilla ice cream. You can change the topping as per your choice like Nutella, Chocolate spread, Lotus Biscoff spread, etc. So lets get cooking….

  • Ingredients:
  • For apple filling:
  • Apple – 1 large
  • Green apple – 2 medium
  • Brown Sugar/ Coconut Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Melted butter – 4 tbsp
  • Refined flour – 2 tbsp
  • Cinnamon powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Vanilla essence – 1/4 tsp
  • Milk – 5 tbsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • For Crisp:
  • Rolled oats – 1/2 cup
  • Refined flour – 1/4 cup
  • Cinnamon powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Brown Sugar/Coconut Sugar- 1/2 cup (packed)
  • Chilled Butter (cut in cubes) – 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla essence – 1/4 tsp
  • For garnishing:
  • Vanilla ice cream and peanut butter

Method:

For oats crisp:

In a bowl mix together the rolled oats, flour, cinnamon powder and brown sugar. Now add the chilled butter and using you hands lightly mix it in and make it into a crumble. Finally add the vanilla essence and mix it all well and keep it in the fridge.

For apple filling:

Slice the apples into thin slices and place it in a baking tray/bowl. In a bowl mix together the melted butter, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon powder, vanilla essence, milk and lemon juice till there are no lumps. Pour this on the apples and coat them all well.

Final assembly:

Take the baking tray in which the apple filling is spread. On this spread a little brown sugar. On this spread the layer of the oats crisp. Bake it in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. The oats layer will become brown and the butter will be bubbling from sides. This is how you know its ready. Take it out once done and let it cool down for 10 minutes. Then serve with topping of choice. I have served it with peanut butter and vanilla ice cream.

  2. I love testing various desserts. And this dessert is already making my mouth water. Made with apples and oats and as you told that we can change the topping this is like a heaven for me. As I prefer putting different topping rather than be monotonous hat others eat generally. I will make this tomorrow only and let you know my feedback soon.

  13. Wow, this recipe sounds like a whole new world of flavor! I’ve never heard of combining apples and oats before, but I’m excited to try it out. And the peanut butter and ice cream combo? Genius! I’m definitely going to give this a shot, but I might have to hide the Nutella from myself so I don’t eat it all before it makes it onto the dessert.😄
