Potato Fingers

Hey guys! The recipe I am posting today is a very simple starter recipe which you can make it very easily if you are trying something new for the first time. It can be easily made with simple ingredients and your guests will also love it. Lets get cooking…

Ingredients:

Boiled potatoes – 4 large

Onions (finely chopped) – 2 small

Capsicum (finely chopped) – 1 medium

Carrot (finely chopped) – 1 cup

French beans (finely chopped)- 1/2 cup

Garlic paste – 2 tsp

Green chili paste – 2 tsp

Garam masala powder – 1 tbsp

Chat masala powder – 1 tbsp

Roasted cumin powder – 1 tsp

Roasted peanut powder – 2 tbsp

Poha/flattened rice (soaked) – 1/2 cup

Coriander leaves (finely chopped) – 1/2 cup

Cheese (grated) – 1/4 cup

Cornflour – 4 tbsp

Maida/Refined flour – 1/2 cup

Water – 1 and 1/4 cup

Rava/Semolina or Bread Crumbs for coating

Oil for deep frying

Salt as per taste

Method:

1) In a bowl take all the ingredients except maida, water, rava or Bread Crumbs and oil. Mix and mash everything together. Grease your palm with oil make small balls out of this and press it between our palms and form a cylindrical shape. Keep these in the fridge for atleast 15 minutes.

2) Take the maida and water and mix it together. This is slurry. After 15 minutes take out potato fingers from the fridge and if you are using bread crumbs first coat it with the slurry then roll in the bread crumbs but if you are using rava first roll in the rava then dip in the slurry and deep fry on medium flame (first let the oil become hot on high flame).

3) Serve hot with ketchup.

I love this dish. Have tried a variety of cutlets using potato. But, have never added capsicum in any though.
