Black Chickpeas Salad

Hey guys! How you doing. Today I am posting a healthy salad recipe which is extremely simple to make and you can have it in place of your lunch and it is very filling. Since its main ingredient is black chickpeas/ black chana this bowlful of salad is filled with protein and has a plethora of other health benefits. Lets get making this tasty salad bowl!

Ingredients:

Black Chickpeas/Black Chana – 1 cup

Tomato (finely chopped) – 1 large

Cucumber (finely chopped) – 1 large

Cabbage (finely chopped) – 1/2 cup

Capsicum (finely chopped) – 1 medium

Onion (finely chopped) – 1 large

Green chilies (finely chopped) – 2

Beetroot (grated) – 1 small

Carrot (orange)(grated) – 1 small

Black salt – 1/2 tsp

Coriander leaves (finely chopped) – 1/4 cup

Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp

Lemon juice – 1 tbsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Method:

1) In a large mixing bowl take the black chickpeas, tomato, cabbage, cucumber, onion, beetroot, carrot, capsicum, green chilies and coriander leaves.

2) Add in the salt, lemon juice, black salt and mayonnaise and mix it all well and serve.

  3. I make this but the only difference is while cooking chickpeas I add some masala. But this is so simple to make yet highly nutritious.

  12. Haven’t tried this one. Big plus for me as a vegetarian is the protein it offers. Iam not fan of cabbage though I eat it in coleslaw. Any recommendations for a replacement for this ingredient?

      Do try it out! You can use iceberg lettuce or purple cabbage instead. Cabbage gives a nice crunch to the salad.
