Hey all!! Paneer Bhurji is a very easy, simple yet tasty recipe that can be made with the simplest ingredients. If you have paneer at home and do not want to go into the elaborate process of making paneer gravy you can make this recipe and have it with paratha/roti. This bhaji is simply delicious and best for lunch or tiffin. I have used homemade fresh paneer you can use the ready paneer also. So Lets get cooking…
Ingredients:
Paneer/Cottage Cheese – 250 grams
Tomatoes (finely chopped) – 2 large
Onion (finely chopped) – 2 large
Ginger paste – 1/2 tsp
Garlic (grated or finely chopped) – 2-3 cloves
Green Chillies (finely chopped) – 2 pieces (if the lesser spicy ones)
Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder – 1 tbsp
Coriander-Cumin/Dhania-Jeera Powder – 1 tbsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Jeera/Cumin – 1 tsp
Salt as per taste
Water – 3-4 tbsp
Oil – 1 tbsp
Asafoetida/Hing – 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves (finely chopped) – 1/4 cup
Method:
1) In a wok take the oil and then add the hing and jeera. Once the jeera crackles add the ginger paste saute for few seconds. Then add the garlic and green chillies and saute for few seconds.
2) Now add the onions and saute till lightly brown in color. Now add the tomatoes and let it cook till bit soft. Now add the turmeric powder, salt, red chilli powder, cumin-coriander powder and garam masala and let the tomatoes cook till it leaves oil.
3) Meanwhile crumble the paneer. Once the tomatoes are cooked add in the crumbled paneer and mix it all well.
4) Once properly mixed add the water and mix everything together. Lower the flame of the gas to minimum and cover the wok and let it cook for 5 minutes. Add the chopped coriander leaves and mix it.
5) Serve hot.
